Paper accounting ledger, coins and pencil

Your child can post the entries, but year-end adjustments keep throwing the figures off.

Our online one-to-one SPM Prinsip Perakaunan (Principles of Accounting) tuition gives each student an experienced Accounting teacher assigned to them, with lessons built around the entries that student gets wrong. The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50).

Who does Accounting tuition help?

Accounting students lose marks in three places, and each needs a different lesson.

  • Recurring entries. The student can post a simple journal but loses track of which side is debited when the same kind of entry returns in a new question.
  • Adjustments. Accruals, prepayments, depreciation and allowances change figures that were already recorded.
  • Financial statements. The figures are right, but they land in the wrong statement or the wrong section.

A teacher who watches you work a full question sees which of these it is within the first few entries.

What does a lesson look like: an error that still balances?

Here is a worked example of what a teacher shows. Kedai Maju pays RM2 400 on 1 October for twelve months of insurance, and the year ends on 31 December.

A student records the full RM2 400 as insurance expense and moves on. The trial balance still balances, the statement of financial position still balances, and the student sees nothing wrong.

The teacher asks one question: how many of the twelve months fall inside this year? Three months have passed, so the expense is RM2 400 × 3 ÷ 12 = RM600. The other RM1 800 is a prepayment, an asset for the next nine months.

Entry Debit Credit
Prepaid insurance RM1 800
Insurance expense RM1 800

The student’s profit was RM1 800 too low and an asset was missing, yet every total matched. This is why balancing the final figures proves little, and why the lesson asks for the reason behind each entry.

Will the teacher explain why, not only balance the figures?

Yes, and that is the point of one-to-one teaching here. The teacher asks the student to say which period each amount belongs to, and then lets the entry follow.

Free lessons such as adjusting accruals and prepayments show the method. In a lesson, the teacher checks that you can do it on a question you have not seen.

What can and cannot one-to-one lessons do?

Lessons can rebuild double entry, teach adjustment logic and give immediate feedback on your working. They work best when you bring the questions you got wrong.

They do not replace your own practice of full questions under time. School-set assessments stay with the school.

How does starting work?

  1. Message us on WhatsApp with the form and the topics that feel hardest, such as adjustments or the statements.
  2. We assign an experienced Accounting teacher and arrange the one-hour trial class (from RM50).
  3. After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not. You and the teacher then agree the schedule and lesson focus.

How our online tuition works gives the full process. Before enquiring, choosing a useful lesson focus helps you pick what to bring.

Common questions

Is Prinsip Perakaunan tuition suitable if I am failing?

Yes. The teacher starts at the last step you can do correctly, such as double entry or the accounting equation, and builds forward so each lesson ends with an entry you can now do alone.

Can the teacher explain why an entry is needed, not just the steps?

Yes. A teacher in a one-to-one lesson asks you to say what each entry records and which statement it affects. The reasoning is the lesson, and the figures follow from it.

How much does Accounting tuition cost?

The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50), and the fee is agreed before it starts. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours, and you and the teacher agree the schedule. Fees are paid monthly, based on the number of classes that month.

Which language are lessons taught in?

Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. The Accounting syllabus is in Malay, so lessons are in BM, with English explanations where they help. Exam answers stay in the language the student sits the paper in.

Do lessons follow the school topic order?

They can. Some students stay a chapter ahead of school and others return to earlier topics first. You decide the focus with the teacher after the trial.

If adjustments, accruals or prepayments keep changing your profit figure, say which one when you enquire. A one-to-one lesson can start at that exact entry. Parents usually arrange the trial.
