Privacy and use of study tools

What happens to your WhatsApp message, and to answers typed into our tools.

This page describes what happens to information when you read the site, use a study tool or send an enquiry. It follows the principles of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 in plain words.

What happens when you read pages?

Reading lessons, guides and decision pages needs no account and no form. The site does not ask you to sign in.

The site uses Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) to count visits to pages and clicks on buttons such as the WhatsApp enquiry buttons, so we can see which pages help families. Each event records the page type, the page’s public reference code, the button position, the subject and the language. No name, phone number, message text or MyKad number is sent to analytics.

Google Analytics 4 uses cookies or similar identifiers on your device, and the data is processed by Google. You can block it with your browser’s privacy settings, an ad or tracker blocker, or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

Messages you send on WhatsApp go to WhatsApp, not to analytics.

What do the study tools do with your answers?

The study tools run in your browser. Answers, scores and plans stay on your own device, and nothing you type is sent to us.

This has one practical consequence: clearing your browser data removes saved progress. If the device is shared, use a private window or clear the data after each session, as the online lesson readiness checklist suggests.

What happens to a WhatsApp enquiry?

Enquiries are made through WhatsApp only. Our team reads your message to arrange tuition: to reply, to ask follow-up questions and to assign an experienced teacher for the subject.

A teacher who is assigned may see the details needed to prepare the paid one-hour trial, such as the form, subject and hard topics. Your WhatsApp number is also visible to us, because that is how the conversation works.

Which principles guide how information is handled?

Principle In plain words
Notice and choice You are told what the information is used for
General Information is used for the purpose it was given
Disclosure It is shared only as needed to arrange lessons
Security Reasonable care is taken to protect it
Retention Information is not kept longer than the purpose needs
Access You can ask what we hold and ask for corrections

What should you share in an enquiry?

Share what helps assign a teacher: subject, form, hard topics, preferred teaching language and general availability. Leave out identity card numbers, bank details, passwords and other sensitive information, because none of it is needed.

A student under 18 should ideally enquire with a parent or guardian aware. The parent and student discussion planner helps a family agree what to share.

How do you ask a question or make a request?

Message us on WhatsApp with your question about privacy, or to ask for information to be corrected or removed. For the rules on using the site, read the terms for using learning resources and tuition enquiries. Back to About SPM Tuition.

Common questions

Do I need an account to use the study tools?

No. The tools work without registration, and the answers you type stay on your own device. Nothing is sent to us when you use a tool.

Who reads my WhatsApp enquiry?

Our team reads enquiries so they can arrange tuition, including assigning a teacher for the subject. Your message is used for that purpose and to reply to you.

Does the site use analytics?

Yes. We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to count visits to pages and clicks on buttons such as the WhatsApp enquiry buttons. No name, phone number, message text or MyKad number is sent to analytics. You can block it with your browser's privacy settings, an ad or tracker blocker, or Google's opt-out add-on.

Can I ask for my details to be removed?

Yes. Message us and say which details you would like removed. We will tell you what we hold and act on the request.

Before the paid trial, the only details needed are the subject, the form and what feels hard. Share nothing more than that in your first WhatsApp message.

  • Online one-to-one lessons for your child with an experienced teacher.
  • Your first class is a one-hour trial, from RM50. The fee is agreed before you book.
