Our online one-to-one SPM Katering dan Penyajian (Catering and Serving) tuition gives a student an experienced teacher for menu planning, service reasoning and catering calculations. The first class is a one-hour trial class (from RM50), with the fee agreed before it starts.
Who this tuition helps
Three situations bring students here.
- Choices without reasons. The menu looks sensible, but the answer never links it to the guests, the budget or the occasion.
- Service order. The student knows the terms for service styles, yet mixes up the sequence on the day.
- Quantities. Scaling a recipe from four portions to forty goes wrong at the first conversion.
A one-to-one teacher watches the student plan a scenario and sees which of the three is the real gap.
What a lesson looks like: justifying a menu
This is an original, fictional scenario.
A school club hosts a retirement tea for a group of guests, mostly senior teachers, on a small fixed budget. Suggest a menu and justify your choices.
A list such as “sandwiches, kuih, tea” earns little. The teacher shows how each item gets a reason tied to the scenario.
| Choice | Reason tied to the scenario |
|---|---|
| Soft sandwich fillings | Easy to chew for older guests |
| Two kinds of kuih | Familiar, can be prepared the day before |
| Plain tea and water | Low cost, suits all dietary needs |
Then the budget check: total budget ÷ number of guests = spending limit per guest. The student tests whether the planned items can stay under that limit.
The skill is to begin with the guests and the limit, then let those decide the food. The student repeats this on a new scenario, such as a school sports day lunch.
What one-to-one lessons can and cannot do
Lessons can practise planning, justification, service sequences and quantity calculations, with immediate feedback on written reasoning.
Cooking, serving and assessed practical tasks stay in the school kitchen. The student arrives at those sessions knowing why each decision is made.
