These eight questions are original and ramp from reading a question to revising an essay frame. Write your answer in Tamil before you open the explanation.
They cover the writing and development cluster. Questions 1 and 2 are the easiest, and questions 7 and 8 combine skills.
Questions
Question 1. Mark the key words in this question: “இணையம் மாணவர்களுக்கு எவ்வாறு உதவுகிறது? விளக்குக.”
Answer
Topic: இணையம் (the internet). Question word: எவ்வாறு (how), so the answer needs ways, not a definition.
Limit: மாணவர்களுக்கு (for students). Task word: விளக்குக (explain), so each point needs an explanation.
Question 2. Which of these points does not answer the question in Question 1?
- (a) தகவலை விரைவாகத் தேடலாம்
- (b) இணையத்தின் வரலாறு
- (c) இணையவழிக் கல்வி வசதி
Answer
(b). The history of the internet is about the topic, not about how it helps students. Points (a) and (c) are ways the internet helps.
Question 3. Write a three-point plan in Tamil key words for: “மாணவர்கள் விளையாட்டில் ஈடுபடுவது ஏன் அவசியம்?”
Answer
One possible plan: (1) உடல்நலம், physical health; (2) குழுப்பண்பு, teamwork; (3) மன அழுத்தக் குறைவு, less stress.
Each point is a reason why sport matters for students, which is what ஏன் asks. Any three separate reasons are acceptable.
Question 4. Develop this point into a paragraph with a point, explanation, example and link: “விளையாட்டு குழுப்பண்பை வளர்க்கிறது.”
Answer
One possible answer: விளையாட்டு குழுப்பண்பை வளர்க்கிறது. குழு விளையாட்டில் ஒருவர் மட்டும் வென்றால் போதாது, அனைவரும் இணைந்து செயல்பட வேண்டும்.
எடுத்துக்காட்டாக, கூடைப்பந்துப் போட்டியில் பந்தைத் தானே வைத்திருக்காமல் நண்பனிடம் அனுப்பிய மாணவனின் அணி வெற்றி பெற்றது.
இவ்வாறு விளையாட்டு மாணவரைக் கூட்டாகச் செயல்படக் கற்றுக்கொடுக்கிறது.
The example names one action and one result. The last sentence links back to the question.
Question 5. Is the example weak or strong? Explain: “நிறைய மாணவர்கள் விளையாடுவதால் நன்மை அடைகிறார்கள்.”
Answer
Weak. It has no person, no action and no result, and it only repeats the point. A strong example would name a student, an action and an outcome, like the basketball example in Question 4.
Question 6. Write one bridge sentence moving from “உடல்நலம்” to “குழுப்பண்பு”.
Answer
உடல்நலத்தை வளர்ப்பதோடு, விளையாட்டு குழுப்பண்பையும் உருவாக்குகிறது.
The sentence names the last idea (உடல்நலம்) and introduces the new one (குழுப்பண்பு). It does not repeat “விளையாட்டு நல்லது”.
Question 7. Revise this vague introduction: “உலகில் பல விளையாட்டுகள் உள்ளன. மக்கள் அவற்றை விளையாடுகிறார்கள்.”
Answer
One possible version: மைதானத்தில் வியர்வை சிந்தும் மாணவன் உடலை மட்டுமல்ல, பண்பையும் வளர்க்கிறான். விளையாட்டு மாணவருக்கு உடல்நலம், குழுப்பண்பு, மன அமைதி ஆகியவற்றைத் தருகிறது.
It opens with an image tied to the topic and names the three points. The original named nothing about students or the question.
Question 8. Write a two-sentence conclusion for the same essay that states the answer and does not list the points again.
Answer
One possible version: ஆகவே, ஒவ்வொரு மாணவரும் வாரத்தில் சில நாட்களாவது விளையாட்டில் ஈடுபட வேண்டும். அந்தப் பழக்கம் அவர்களை வாழ்நாள் முழுவதும் வலிமையாக வைத்திருக்கும்.
It answers “why necessary” with a recommended action and a final thought. It does not repeat health, teamwork and stress.
