Evidence-led KOMSAS integrated practice

You have worked through the four lessons and want one set that uses them all.

This set has six questions built on one invented scene. It practises the four lessons in evidence-led KOMSAS revision.

The scene

In chapter 8, Kak Aini, a shopkeeper, finds that a regular customer has left behind a bag of groceries. She closes the shop early and walks to the customer’s house to return it. The customer, Puan Rosnah, offers her a drink, but Kak Aini declines and says the shop is waiting.

Questions

Question 1. Write a verified record of the event: chapter, event, one detail.

Answer

Chapter 8; Kak Aini returns the forgotten groceries; she closes her shop early and walks to the house. The detail is one you can point to in the scene. This is the verify step from the first lesson.

Question 2. State one nilai and one persoalan that this event can support.

Answer

Nilai: bertanggungjawab or jujur, from her action of returning the bag. Persoalan: a possible issue such as sikap mengutamakan orang lain, from her giving up selling time. The same facts support both with different angles.

Question 3. Write the action, inference and reason for Kak Aini’s action.

Answer

Action: she closes the shop early to return the bag. Inference: she is bertimbang rasa. Reason: she accepts the loss of selling time because she thinks the customer needs her groceries.

Question 4. Sort each claim as supported, inference or invented: (a) Kak Aini walks to the house. (b) She fears that Puan Rosnah will be angry. (c) She cares about her customers.

Answer

(a) Supported, it happens in the scene. (b) Invented, since nothing says she is afraid. (c) Inference, from her effort to return the bag.

Question 5. Write one record line for this event.

Answer
Chapter Event Detail Shows Good for
Ch 8 Returns forgotten groceries “closes the shop early” Bertimbang rasa Nilai, pengajaran

Question 6. Write a pengajaran from the event.

Answer

Kita hendaklah bersikap prihatin terhadap orang lain dan sanggup berkorban masa untuk membantu mereka. It follows from the result of the action and is written as advice.

If you got these wrong

Questions 1, 2 and 6 link to selecting a verified event that fits two different question prompts. Question 3 links to explaining why an action shows a quality.

Question 4 links to text-supported readings versus invented details. Question 5 links to a short revision record.

Common questions

Why is the scene invented?

An invented scene lets you practise the method without depending on any prescribed text. Afterwards, repeat each task on an event from your own novel, checked against your own copy.

Should I write full answers?

Yes. Write the nilai, persoalan or explanation in Bahasa Melayu as you would in an answer. Then compare the structure with the model, not the exact wording.

What should I do with mistakes?

Note which lesson each mistake links to, revisit that lesson and redo the question after two days. Keep a short list of repeated slips.

If you pass this set but hesitate on your real novel, a one-to-one BM teacher can run the same steps on your own copy and check each answer against the text.
