Our online one-to-one SPM Produksi Seni Persembahan tuition gives your child an experienced teacher who helps plan roles, order the sequence and write a reflection grounded in real rehearsal notes. The first class is a one-hour trial class (from RM50).

Who this tuition helps

Production work is shared, so individual students can lose track of their own part. Three situations come up.

  • Unclear roles. Two people both think the other is handling the props list.
  • Sequence gaps. Lighting is planned, but nobody has checked when the set change happens.
  • A thin reflection. The account says “rehearsal went well” without one observed detail.

A one-to-one teacher takes your real project and asks the questions a good stage manager would ask.

What a lesson looks like: planning dependencies

This is a worked example for a fictional ten-minute school show.

Scene 3 ends with a blackout. Scene 4 opens with a table on stage.

The student lists who acts at that moment and discovers a problem: the table must move during the blackout, but the crew are also needed to reset a door.

Moment Needed Depends on
Blackout begins Lighting operator, cue called Stage manager’s call
Table moves on Two crew Path clear of the door flat
Scene 4 lights up Operator Crew confirmed “set”

The teacher then turns to the reflection. A weak sentence reads “The scene change was bad.” A stronger one reads: “In the second rehearsal the table arrived after the lights came up, so I moved the crew’s exit earlier and added a spoken ‘set’ before the cue.”

The second sentence names an observation, a decision and a reason. You can build on this with planning production roles and dependencies for a fictional performance.

What online lessons can and cannot do

Lessons suit planning charts, role descriptions, cue sequences, risk thinking and the writing of a reflective account. A teacher can also help you rehearse how to explain your decisions aloud.

Rehearsals, backstage practice, equipment use and the performance are done with your school group. A teacher cannot be present in your theatre, run your cues or promise a grade. The reflective account must describe what you really observed, so the teacher guides you to notice, never to invent.

How starting works

In your WhatsApp message, give your form and what your group is producing. We assign an experienced teacher and agree the fee with you before the one-hour trial class (from RM50). After the trial you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not.

The trial lesson agenda builder helps you prepare your planning notes. For the whole process, see how our online tuition works.

Common questions

Can online tuition help with a production that happens on stage?

It helps with the paper side: roles, sequence, dependencies and the reflective account. Rehearsals, technical work and the performance itself take place with your school group and stay there.

What does the teacher look at in my reflective account?

The teacher checks whether each claim rests on something you actually observed in rehearsal, such as a cue that came late, and whether you explain what you changed and why.

I only do a backstage role. Is the lesson still relevant?

Yes. Planning sequence and dependencies is a core backstage skill. The teacher works from your own role and shows how to explain its effect on the whole production.

How much do lessons cost after the trial?

The first class is a one-hour trial from RM50. The rate depends on the teacher and is the same hourly rate as that teacher's normal classes, and the fee is agreed before the trial. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours per class.

Can I be taught in English or Bahasa Melayu?

Lessons are in English or BM, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Written work stays in your course language.

If your child's production plan is vague or the reflection reads like a diary, a one-to-one lesson can tighten both. Tell us the form and what the group is producing. Parents usually arrange the trial.
