Our online one-to-one SPM Penjagaan Muka dan Penggayaan Rambut (Facial Care and Hair Styling) tuition gives a student an experienced teacher for the theory side of the subject. The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50).

Who this tuition helps

The subject mixes science-style knowledge with practical routines, which catches out different students in different ways.

  • Terms without reasons. The student remembers “oily skin” and “dry skin” but cannot explain why a routine changes between them.
  • Safety and hygiene steps. Answers list rules, yet the marks ask for the reason behind each one.
  • Planning questions. Writing a sequence of steps for a fictional client is a new skill for students used to short-answer recall.

In a one-to-one lesson the teacher asks the student to explain a step aloud and finds quickly whether the gap is knowledge or wording.

What a lesson looks like: concept versus personal advice

This is a worked example of a classroom skill, not a treatment recommendation.

A fictional character has skin that looks shiny by midday and has visible pores around the nose. A question asks the student to describe a suitable cleansing step.

A weak answer says “use a good cleanser”. The teacher builds a better one in three parts.

  1. Observation. Shine and visible pores point towards an oily skin type in the classroom model.
  2. Principle. Cleansing removes surface oil and dirt, and the choice of product should match the skin type described.
  3. Safety note. Any product is checked for suitability first, for example with a patch test, before use.

The student learns to answer from the information in the question, in the order observation, principle, safety. The same three parts then work for a hair-styling question about tools and heat.

What one-to-one lessons can and cannot do

Lessons can teach theory, explain why procedures are ordered the way they are, and help plan a supervised learning process. Feedback on written answers is immediate.

Practical demonstrations, supervised client work and any assessed tasks stay at school. A teacher cannot promise a grade. Nothing in the lessons is a personal treatment plan.

Common questions

Will the teacher give treatment advice for my own skin or hair?

No. Lessons cover classroom theory and planning a supervised learning process. Personal treatment decisions belong with a qualified professional, not with a tuition lesson.

What can be learnt online in this subject?

The theory: skin and hair structure, product and tool knowledge, hygiene and safety reasoning, and how to plan and describe a procedure in writing. Practical skills are developed at school.

Is the assessed practical work covered?

Practical and supervised work stays in the school setting under the school's arrangements. Lessons help the student understand the reasons behind each step so they can explain them clearly.

How much does the tuition cost?

The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50), and the fee is agreed before it starts. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours, and you and the teacher agree the schedule.

Can lessons be in Bahasa Melayu?

Lessons are in English or Bahasa Melayu, depending on the subject, and the teacher explains clearly in whichever suits the student. Tell us your preference when you enquire. Answers stay in the language of the paper.

If theory answers sound correct but read as a list of terms, a one-to-one lesson can practise explaining the reason behind each step. Tell us which topic feels hardest. Parents usually arrange the trial.
