Our online one-to-one SPM Al-Adab wa al-Balaghah tuition gives each student an experienced teacher assigned to them, with lessons built around the texts and answers that student finds hardest. The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50).

Who does this tuition help?

Students look for help in this subject for three reasons.

  • Naming without explaining. The student recognises a tashbih or an isti’arah but the answer stops at the name.
  • Reading difficulty. The vocabulary or sentence structure of the text blocks understanding before analysis begins.
  • Answer structure. The ideas are there, but they are not arranged as feature, evidence and effect.

A one-to-one teacher watches which of these is happening on a real text, and starts there.

What does a lesson look like: explaining a simile with evidence?

Here is a worked example. The line is العلم كالنور, meaning “knowledge is like light”.

A weak answer says only: “This is tashbih.” The teacher asks the student to take the line apart.

Part In the line
Mushabbah (what is compared) العلم, knowledge
Mushabbah bihi (what it is compared to) النور, light
Adat al-tashbih (the word of comparison) ك, like
Wajh al-shabah (the shared quality) Not stated

The adat is stated and the shared quality is left out, so this is tashbih mursal mujmal. A full answer then gives the effect: the reader supplies the quality, such as guidance or clarity, and the comparison becomes more memorable.

The structure is feature, evidence, effect. In lessons the student practises that three-part explanation on new lines until it comes without the table.

What can and cannot online lessons do?

Lessons can build reading confidence, teach how to analyse balaghah features and give feedback on written answers. They work best when you bring the text you study and an answer you wrote.

The syllabus, texts, assessment timing and format are set by your school and the examination authority. Confirm current details with your school and on the Lembaga Peperiksaan website, because online lessons cannot change them.

How does starting work?

  1. Message us on WhatsApp with the form, the texts you study and what feels hardest.
  2. We assign an experienced teacher and arrange the one-hour trial class (from RM50).
  3. After the trial, you decide whether the teacher is a good fit, and you can ask for another teacher if not. You and the teacher then agree the schedule and lesson focus.

How our online tuition works covers the whole process.

Common questions

Which parts of Al-Adab wa al-Balaghah can be taught online?

Reading and analysing texts, identifying and explaining balaghah features, and writing structured answers all work well online. Anything set or assessed by your school, such as its own timing and format, stays with the school.

Is tuition suitable if I find Arabic texts hard to follow?

Yes. The teacher starts from the level at which you can read with understanding, then builds toward the texts you study. Lessons can be taught in English, Bahasa Melayu or Chinese, with Arabic for the texts themselves.

How much does tuition cost?

The first class is a one-hour trial (from RM50), and the fee is agreed before it starts. Lessons are usually about 1.5 hours, and you and the teacher agree the schedule.

Can the teacher follow the texts my school uses?

Tell us which texts and topics you study when you enquire. We assign a teacher who teaches this subject, and you agree the focus with the teacher after the trial.

Do you guarantee a grade?

No. A teacher can build understanding and give feedback on your answers, but results depend on the student's practice and the exam itself.

If you know the terms but lose marks explaining them, bring one text and one answer you wrote. A one-to-one lesson can work on the explanation itself. Parents usually arrange the trial.
