Students across Melaka can take online one-to-one SPM lessons with an experienced teacher assigned for their subject. The one-hour trial class (from RM50) is a real taught lesson.
Why do online lessons suit a state with three districts?
Melaka has three districts: Melaka Tengah, Alor Gajah and Jasin. The state is compact, but the drive between a village in Jasin and a centre in Melaka City still costs a student an evening.
Online lessons give every district the same starting point. A student in Masjid Tanah and a student near Ayer Keroh meet the teacher in the same way, from a desk at home.
How does the Melaka school week shape lesson times?
Melaka schools run Monday to Friday and rest on Saturday and Sunday. Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are the realistic slots.
Melaka City draws visitors to its heritage area, and the roads near the centre are busy on weekends. A family living near the centre may prefer a lesson that does not depend on driving anywhere on a Saturday.
A worked example of planning one weekly lesson
Here is an illustrative example. A Form 4 student in Jasin takes the school bus home and arrives late. The student wants weekly help with Science.
- Monday evening is free but the bus gets in late.
- Wednesday evening is free and the student is home by five.
- Saturday morning is free, with no road trip needed.
The student and teacher pick Wednesday evening, with Saturday morning as a spare. If the bus times change, the slot changes with them.
Where should a Melaka family look next?
